| Went to Eunsuh's Dohl Janchee and had a great time with the OC ladies this weekend. I don't
get to see them much, but this gang is so much fun.
Afterwards we went to norabang and sang our hearts out, too bad we
don't have pictures.
Betty, Matty, Dooks, Bets, Julie (the mom), me and Kellie minus the birthday girl

Julie and her daughter Eunsuh

So I've been running pretty consistently for the past few weeks (except
for
yesterday, instead of my usual going to the gym, I opted for kimbap and
watching "Failure to Launch" w/ my roomie) but it's still taking me a
while to build up my tolerance to running long distances. So far
the farthest I've run at one time is 5 miles. It's still
really tiring to run around the Rose Bowl which I think is just over 3
miles around. Everytime I run it, I'm thinking how the heck am I
going to be able to do run this baby nearly 9 times around!! It
does feel impossible to tell you the truth, but I have a plan.
I'll run the Nike Run Hit Remix this Sunday (5 miles), then do the OC
half-marathon on January 7th (c'mon Young do it w/ me), and that'll be
exactly 2 months before the full on March 7. But you
know, I'm just starting to feel a little of the 'runner's high'
you just feel soo rejuvenated and energized after a good
run! It even affects your mood, I feel so happy after running.
I"m going to get Jeff Gallaway's book on training for
marathons, he's apparently supposed to be the best.

| I am genuinely sad and shocked about Steve Irwin's (the famous
Australian Crocodile Hunter) death this weekend. Our cable and
internet has been down all week so I've been out of the loop, but I
just found out during a meeting this morning. How tragic. He
seemed like such a likeable man. One of my co-workers was in
tears today. It's interesting, because you feel so
connected to these people. Am I the only one that's sad?

Yay yay yay~~ My best friend Lisa Mason is coming this Friday!
I've been friends w/ this girl for 20 years. The first time we met was
in our 4th grade class at Twin Lakes. She was wearing yellow and
black plaid from head to toe. I call it the bumble bee outfit. She was
this buck toothed cute little girl and I was the new, poodle pamahed
little Korean w/ a huge gap between my teeth! We were pretty nerdy.
The teacher pronounced my name Jen--hi and thought I
'd be a guy before I walked into the class. We totally clicked
and we instantly became best friends and practically attached at the
hip until 8th grade until she moved to Longview. Oh my gosh, I remember
running for president in 7th grade and she was my manager, I don't
think she was too excited about it, but what a trooper for doing it
anyway. There were
like 13 other students running and I didn't win, but ohhh the
memories. I was so weird. On our campaign posters, I insisted on
putting up these huge pictures of myself. Lisa was like... "Um
Jenhie are you sure you want to do that?". And of course I
thought it was brilliant. Pretty soon after, there were mustaches
on my pictures. I can go on and on with these
self-depricating stories,
but one last one will do for now. We were in choir together
in 7th grade ( we had practically every class together) and one class
we had tryouts for Annie. I was this incredibly shy, shy girl,
but sometimes, I'd do these crazy things, like try out for the part of
Annie. It was my turn to try out and I was as nervous as nervous
can be! I started sining, "The sun'll come out tomorrow..." but
when I got to 'out'.. it sounded like 'oooooouuuut' all shakey and
cracked . I just sat down w/ out finishing the song, I was on the
verge of tears, but was glad to have Lisa right beside me to comfort
me. I look over at her and she is trying to console me behind
quivering lips, cuz she was cracking up so hard. (lol) oh dude, it was
funny.
I was so depressed my 8th grade year when she moved, but she'd
visit often and we'd go to youth group camps together and nicknamed our
crushes, cuz Lisa couldn't remember their Korean names. There was
'white sweater guy' and 'Korean sweater guy'. We dormed
together, lived together, went through the chaos and craziness of
college together, fought, then didn't talk for awhile, then totally
made-up & forgave each other, prayed together and cried
together.
History. I have history w/ this girl. And now she has a family of her
own. Best Friends for life, --- until we're all old and wrinkly.
She's a total ESFJ, she hasn't taken the test, but
I'll bet anything she is. I'll post up pics when she comes~

| I have exactly 7 months until my 30th birthday. I am going to make a list of things I
want to do during my 30th year, one of them is running a marathon.
Since, I need at least 6 months to train, I've decided that I will
run the LA Marathon on March 7th 2007, 5 days after the big 3-0.
And I've been meaning to write a post about this to keep me accountable-so the training begins.
I just found out that a co-worker of mine travels the world to run these ultra-marathons
. They're 100 miles long and you run for literally 24 hours +
. I didn't even know these kinds of marathons existed. He
said he finished his in 30 hours. How does a person run 30 hours
straight without sleeping? Is that possible? If he can do
that, then I know I can certainly run a marathon. That's pretty
darn musheesuh though~~
I'm definitely a beginner, so I'll start by running the 10K Nike One Hit Wonder
in September and then do a half-marathon in January. If there are
any joiners w/ me and you're in the LA area--let's do it!
